Mattei Insurance Services, located near Portland, Oregon, was founded in 1993 as The Mattei Companies' claim handling and loss control facility.

Our claims and loss control personnel are selected for their technical expertise and professional experience with the specific industries underwritten by The Mattei Companies. Mattei claim and loss control specialists also reside in each customer service center.

Our loss control focus is on specific hazard reduction and development of management safety practices. Interacting directly with policy holders, we concentrate on identifying those exposures that could lead to losses and claims. We house loss control representatives in each of our offices to better service our customers.

Our claim handling philosophy perfectly complements the control operation. Adjusters are industry-specific, they know the territory, the idiosyncrasies of the claims, and are able to close them faster and more accurately than could those with less industry knowledge.
